Biography

At a time when female artists of substance seem rare, emerges a woman who has established a reputation thanks to her mesmerizing stage presence and inspirational voice.  Noelle Scaggs illustrates the magic of true artistry.

Acclaimed as the female counterpart to lead singer “Fitz”of soul-pop ensemble, Fitz And The Tantrums.  In just a short time Noelle, along with her dapper colleagues have taken the world by storm performing everywhere from late night TV to sweaty clubs and major festival events around the world.  They were recently acclaimed by Vogue Magazine as the “Hardest Working Band of 2011”, and as the “Artist To Watch”in Rolling Stone Magazine.     The band was also chosen as  VH1’s You Outta Know Artist in April 2011.   Often receiving comparisons to her childhood legend Tina Turner for her electric live performances, Noelle has become a popular fixture in this male dominated outfit.

On her own Noelle, has not fallen short of success, lending her voice to everything from classic hip-hop hooks and disco jams to soulful ballads. This L.A.-based chanteuse is featured on a variety of recordings from artists such as Mike Andrews, John Cale, Quantic, Mayer Hawthorne, Dilated Peoples, Guilty Simpson, The Lions, and Orgone.  She has also collaborated on several songs with hip-hop supergroup the Black Eyed Peas on their Double Platinum LP; Elephunk ,  modeled in an art piece for Kanye West, sung backup for Miley Cyrus, hosted Nappy Boy TV with T-Pain for the 2008 VMAs, and worked with Damian Marley on his 2010 release with rapper NAS.  She contributed as a singer and songwriter to film soundtracks such as, Walk Hard with John C. Riley, The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johanssen, and as an actress in, Be Cool with John Travolta.

Despite her current schedule with Fitz, Noelle still aspires to connect and collaborate with other artists in all areas of the entertainment business.   When asked where she thinks she will be in the next 5 years? She responds with a gleeful outlook saying, “I will still be making records, still be performing, and I hope I’ll still be touching other peoples lives with my music. Everything else will work itself out.”
